Cleaning:

Your comfort is our top propriety. To ensure everything is ready when you arrive, our apartments receive a delivery of fresh linens, comforters and towels for your booking.

Welcome to our family home on rue Maitre Albert! This one-bedroom apartment is loaded with ancient Parisian charm and has been lovingly prepared for your visit to Paris, and we hope you will enjoy it.

The apartment is just steps from the magnificent Notre Dame cathedral and the river Seine, and in the other direction you’ll find Place Maubert with its fresh food market three times per week, two supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and everything else you could hope for in a typically Parisian neighborhood. click here

The apartment features a new large queen bed (160 cm x 200 cm). There is also a small armoire where you can unpack your belongings.

The spacious living area has a dining table for 4, a writing desk, a TV with a few English news channels, a telephone with free international calling to many destinations, and WiFi internet (with a modem you can plug directly into with an Ethernet cable if you prefer). The living area also has a closet with space for you to hang clothing and store your suitcases.

The full bathroom has a toilet, sink and a large bathtub with a wall-mounted shower attachment. The sink area has a medicine cabinet above it for storage of personal toiletries.

The kitchen has a bar area with two bar stools and is a great place to hang out and talk while cooking up a great meal with fresh food purchased in the neighborhood. The kitchen has all the important appliances: a refrigerator with a small freezer; a clothes washer/dryer combination unit; a dishwasher; a two-burner electric induction stove; an oven; a microwave and lovely granite countertops.

Towels and bed linens are provided, along with basic items like bath soap, clothes washing detergent, coffee, salt and pepper, and many other items to help you feel at home.

The apartment is located on the first floor French (second floor to North Americans) and does NOT have an elevator. You will need to walk up one flight of stairs (pictured).

Rue Maitre Albert is a small one-way street, right by the river Seine and Place Maubert. You will find this neigborhood has just about everything you could need! Our favorite is the fresh market three times per week just at the end of the street at Place Maubert.

The old-world charm of neighborhood is unquestionable, and for travelers visiting Paris, we think you’ll find our apartment to be a fantastic home base!

Review #19064592 “WINTER SPECIAL 15%OFF -2-Minute Walk from Notre Dame!”
Beautiful apartment in great neighborhood
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Highly recommended. A quiet, stylish apartment just minutes away from great tourist destinations. Notre Dame Cathedral and the Seine is right there, and a welcome sight in the mornings and evenings. Lovely walking proximity to D’Orsay, the Louvre, and many other must-sees. The apartment has everything as advertised and you have a dedicated customer service rep/greeter upon arrival.

Best I have ever stayed!
Thank you Ruben the apt was lovely. The location is perfect. Half a block from the Seine and Norte dame. The apt had everything you need the kitchen was very well equipped. THERE is a couple of supermarkets and a butcher and bakery up the block on Blvd San German. We made breakfast every morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon after sight seeing. Restaurants are steps away in Saint Andre-des-arts. Metro station Maubert and Saint-Michel are so close. This was the best apt I have rented in Europe.

A warm cozy retreat in a wonderful location

We could not have asked for a better place to stay in Paris. The apartment is character filled, quaint with all modern conveniences. On arrival our host guided us through the working of appliances and showed us the local area. She discussed « must sees » and was very patient and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Cosy flat just steps away from Notre Dame
The location was perfect – on a small street just steps away from Notre Dame & just 2 subway stops from Gare du Nord. The flat was just as represented in the photos. We were met at the flat by Florence who went over everything in the flat with us. So many sites were nearby; we walked almost everywhere. Perfect size for a couple. Very clean. There is a wonder food market twice a week just a few blocks away as well as a butcher, bakery, & cheese shop.

Beautiful enchanting property in the best location possible.!!

Charming, extremely well equipped–great kitchen and bathroom that had been recently remodeled–excellent value for the neighborhood. Enough light with 2 windows. Only one flight uplll We love Place Maubert and the subway Maubert-Mutalite and on the other side of the street, direct access to Notre Dame. It is a 5 minute walk to St Michel and we would absolutely stay there again. Communication was always very good and prompt attention to any concerns/issues.

Paris Holiday Visit
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
If you are looking for an old building with beams, tile floors, just a block from the Seine and Notre Dame with antiques but modern conveniences, then this is the place for you. The photos you see on the internet are what you get starting with entering the building.

Our stay was comfortable and peaceful. We were there for 10 days over the holidays and the area was crawling with tourists, but very few ventured down our little street. Being on the (American ) second floor, you can hear street traffic and people talking due to the narrow street and tall buildings. But for us, this is what life is like in the most visited city in the world.

We have visited Paris several times staying in hotels. Acquiring an apartment is the best way to visit any city or town. We will return again to Paris and will be sure to rent this beautiful apartment again.

I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Paris – close to everything, but on a small, quiet street! Rather than repeat all the praise given by other reviewers, with which we wholeheartedly agree, I’ll just say it made our trip absolutely perfect! We were able to book this apartment with very short notice, thanks to Ruben’s responsiveness. Also, many thanks to Madeleine for greeting us and making us feel welcome. We will definitely be back!

Amazing! Location, charm, and comfort!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Our vacation in Paris was everything we hoped it would be, in large part because of this wonderful property and the great service by Ruben and his team. The property was just as described. It’s location, charm, and comfort left nothing to be desired! We loved being in this location in the Latin Quarter, so close to everything we hoped to do and see in Paris. We loved being tucked a little away from the hustle-and-bustle, yet right around the corner from Notre Dame, the Seine River, and so much more!

Home away from home.

I have stayed here 2 times and about to book a third. It’s my apartment in Paris. Close to the market, Metro and Notre Dame. And yet it’s on a quite little street with real local charm. Stay a week, stay a month, it’s got a great kitchen, washer dryer and a relaxing living room to wind down in after a day of experiencing Paris. Rubin is great and looks out after your arrival. Use his limo guy from the airport. Afraid to say too much, the apartment might get booked for when I want to return.

Great location, great apartment
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We visit Paris quite regularly, always renting apartments, and can testify that this one is a gem! Excellent location, between Notre Dame and Quartier Latin, located in a small and quiet street that shields you from the noise of the city. Very close to subway and buses, with food market three times a week and plenty of restaurants and stores around… The apartment itself is really as advertised in the photos, may be even better. Beautiful furniture, tasty decoration, large comfortable bed (not that common in Paris!!). Kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances and bathroom is beautiful.
Ruben and his team were very responsive (well, we did not really need their services, everything was perfect…), but we were offered a bottle of wine by Madeleine when she welcomed us, an Ruben granted us a late check out despite having guests checking in the same day. And all the small items that you need to start feeling at home and are typically a pain to collect were already here when we arrived. That does not happen by accident, so thank you Ruben!

Ruben and his team provide a very comfortable apartment in a terrific location. The kitchen was well equiped, the washing machine/dryer was a big plus, and the furnishings were very attractive. Ruben runs a very professional operation. We were met on time and given all the support we needed.

Because you’re in a busy part of the city, expect some noise in the evenings.

A great flat. We look forward to our next visit.

Great situation. Near everything you could expect for (bars, restaurants, small typical markets, metro, etc). You can go many interesting places by feet. We were always happy at the end of the day to come back at our cosy place. It is Paris, so the small street is a little bit noisy early in the morning… but you don’t care, this apartment is a great value!

Review #15535372 “WINTER SPECIAL 15%OFF -2-Minute Walk from Notre Dame!”
Great location, beautiful apartment, great owner/manager!!!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
First off: we chose this apartment mostly based on location and price. Both were fantastic! An easy walk to the Siene River and Notre Dame. A moderate walk to the Louvre and other museums, ect. Plenty of great restaurants to choose from nearby and a good Italian/pizza place right out outside the door.

Getting to and from the apartment from the Orly or CDG airports cost approximately $85.€ with either a private limo service or an Uber Van.

Ruben, the manager, communicates well and was a pleasure to deal with.

The apartment is beautiful, and you could definitely stay of a week or longer. The beds were a little firm for our taste, but we found that to be the case across most of Europe. There are a minimal amount of stairs, but they are very wide and much easier to get luggage up and down than some places we have stayed… And we had plenty of luggage to haul up and down! The area felt relatively safe even at night.
Unless you despise hard beds, we highly recommend this place!

Incredible location!  The Seine River is only one block away. We were so close to cafes, pastry shops,

groceries, and the major sites in the Latin Qtr.  We could walk to everything.  The apartment is clean, comfortable, easy to locate.

We really appreciated being able to crack open the windows and turn on the fan for restful sleep during warm Parisian nights.

When we return to Paris in the future, we would definitely stay here again.

This was our fourth time staying at this apartment. The location is excellent, it is well appointed, clean, everything you need is there . We have stayed in Paris before in Hotels, which is fine, but lacks the sense of actually living as a Parisian. If you want a true Paris experience, try this apartment, restaurants and cafes abound, you are a couple hundred yards (meters) from Notre Dame.

Perfect location…a minute from the Maubert Market and Metro. Or you can enjoy a 10 minute walk across the Seine and enter the world of the Isle St. Louis. The minute you enter the building you are transported back in time, and once in the apartment, it feels like you are at home. Toasty bathroom and elegance everywhere. Hubby slept like a log; I’m a light sleeper so I didn’t fair as well with night time walkers down below on the street, but the beauty and comfort of the apartment was a great consolation. Ruben was a perfect host! Thank you, Karen

We had an awesome time and would love to come back!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My wife found this property and booked it online here from Canada.

This was our first time using VRBO and it was painless in terms of booking and payment as long as you have a paypal account.

When we arrived at the property, we were greeted with many smiles, a quick orientation, and the keys to a wonderful apartment. Everything you need is there and having WIFI included is a nice touch. They also include towels, laundry soap, and tablets for the dishwasher. There is also a bevy of bathroom products (Shampoo, soap, etc) left behind by other renters. Most importantly, there is a guide book that tells you all the particulars you would need (operating the washer/dryer, how to reset the wifi, directions). I know not all rentals have this, so it was nice to have.

The property is very clean and very well maintained, and very secure.

Location is ideal. You really are two minutes from Notre Dame, and you you can hear the bells chiming if you have the window open. You are a 10 minute walk from the Hotel DeVille. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby as well, including Franprix, which will suffice for groceries and munchies. the closest Metro station is 200 Metres away and you are 90 seconds away from the Seine where you can choose a bevy of boats for hire (I recommend the Batobus).

I’m not sure when I will be in Paris again, but I definitely know where to stay when I do return!

Best location by the Notre Dame!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My husband and I spent 5 nights in the apartment. This was our first international VRBO booking and I didn’t know what to expect. Ruben was extremely responsive and understanding, even when the VRBO site was causing us a bit of trouble by not allowing payment (filed an IT ticket). When our car drove up to the apartment, all I could say was WOW, the location is fantastic! It literally is just a few steps from the Notre Dame, in a lovely little neighborhood filled with cafes, restaurants, and an all-around great vibe. It is also very close to a metro station, which made getting around town very convenient – although we ended up walking to almost everywhere, as the Seine is right there and you can’t beat the riverbank walks… We were met promptly by our greeter, who was super friendly and showed us around the apartment. The apartment is charming, in an old building, but with all the modern day conveniences one can hope for (minus an elevator which is no problem, as it is on the first floor). Everything was clean and in working order. One thing that was slightly annoying was the daily visits of the garbage truck: promptly at 7am. This was a bit noisy, but I still gave 5 stars, because who cares? You are in Paris, by the Notre Dame, in a fabulous apartment! Others mentioned about the noise at night, but we didn’t notice that at all. We would definitely go back and would rent from Ruben again. Thank you for the great experience all around!

Excellent Location near Notre Dame!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a very enjoyable stay in this apartment. It is exactly as advertised! I must add that we also stayed at another of Ruben’s properties listed as « Heart of the Marias – Stylish & Charming » which was also exactly as advertised. I can only write a review attached to the St. Germain location as I had booked this apartment first, then changed to the other via Ruben’s rental company because we wanted to stay longer and the St Germain property was booked for those additional days. The Marias property is also excellent and slightly larger and in a more residential neighborhood. We changed to the St. Germain property for 2 days due to an issue with the hot water at the Maris apartment and then moved back to the Marais apartment when the issue was resolved. I want to express my gratitude to Ruben for being an AMAZING property manager! When we had the hot water issue, he immediately came in person and moved us both times. He is delightful, as well as Florence, his assistant. Also, his contact for the airport pickup, Hakim, is terrific. All around, a first-class operation! I would absolutely rent one of Ruben’s properties again

Review #12431956 “Ideal Location with Charm and Comfort”

My husband and I spent 5 nights in this wonderful apartment! The location is everything that I hoped it would be! Excellent fromagerie, charcuterie, boulangerie, patisserie, metro stop, open air market, bnp paribas bank all just a short block away! Love!!! Plus a short 1 min walk to the Seine, with gorgeous view of Notre Dame. The « Instant Gourmand » nearby served excellent gallette. So many fun shops and restaurants nearby. THE BEST LOCATION!!
Other reviews are correct about noise. The employees at the nearby pizza shop sat outside talking and drinking late into the night, with the noise traveling directly into our windows, and there was some kind of loud party on Fri. We noticed significantly more noise on Fri & Sat nights, noticeably less noise on weeknights. Since it was extremely hot while we were there, we needed the windows open at night. For noise sensitive people, it may not be ideal. I personally slept right through it. Speaking of heat, this apartment has no Air Conditioning. We unfortunately had record breaking heat during our visit (heat index in the 100’s almost every day we were there). Even with closing everything up during the day and opening the windows at night, the apartment was a bit stuffier than I would have liked. The bedroom/living room area aired out nicely overnight but the bathroom and kitchen (further from the windows) remained quite warm. Don’t let this necessarily deter you, but know that if you’re sensitive to heat, you may find this an issue in the dead of summer. The floors of the apartment always felt cool (even when the air was warm), so more moderate temperatures would be quite pleasant. Despite the heat, I LOVE THIS APARTMENT!!!
The apartment itself is so incredibly comfortable and charming. The modern bathroom and kitchen were a great convenience and greatly appreciated. We didn’t really cook, but did use the kitchen for repurposing restaurant leftovers into breakfasts and snacks. We used both the dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer while there. Be sure to read the instructions in the apartment manual for using those machines (very different from the United States versions I’m used to). The nicely sized queen bed was very comfortable. We didn’t use the daybed, but enjoyed breakfast at the table and enjoyed relaxing on the chaise. Do be careful on the stairs, they’ve sloped with age and should be used with some caution. No too problematic, though.
WONDERFUL, MAGICAL! Can’t wait to go back!

This apartment was just wonderful. Excellent location- right across the Seine from Notre Dame, a block away from the Metro, boulangeries, grocery store, wine shop, etc. Everything was right there. The apartment is located on a side street, which was nice. However, even with the windows closed, we did hear a lot of street chatter. It didn’t bother us, but it might be an issue for people who have a problem with noise. It is one floor up an old staircase, but that was only an issue when carrying our heavy luggage up to the apartment! Ruben and his team were wonderful- quick responses, helpful in showing us around the property, etc. We had planned to use the kitchen more than we did- ended up picking up food as we traveled through the city! I highly recommend this location.

This apartment was perfect for me and my 18 year old daughter. She slept in the day bed (she is petite) and I stayed in the very comfortable queen sized bed. This apartment is spacious even by American standards. The kitchen is fully stocked and the washer/dryer all in one combo is a brilliant concept. The living/dining room is very spacious and quaintly decorated. Even the crooked steps were lovely to us. We never took a cab as the Metro stops are very convenient and we even took the train to and from the airport. We hardly ate out but instead went to the grocery stores and crepe shops. Be sure to check out Ste Andre des Arts where there is a great assortment of quaint cafes. We discovered it too late. Save some time for just exploring this wonderful area of Paris! Ruben was great to work with and there was lots of good information in the binder in the apartment. Just make sure to have a really good Metro Map that shows you all the lines along with the major points of interest.

Review #8596030 Great location

The location of the apartment is terrific. It is one block from the Maubert Metro station and two blocks from Notre Dame. The surrounding area has everything you need: 2 grocery stores, patisseries, boulangeries, cheese and wine shops, 2 ATMs and a street market on Tues, Thursday, and Friday. We easily took the train from CDG airport to St Michel station, exited via sortie 6, up the elevator to Xavier Privas, next to the Seine and walked 550 yes to the apartment. Ruben was extremely organized with emails and information prior to our trip and very helpful when we arrived. The apartment was clean, relaxing and everything was in working order. We stayed 9 nights, cooked breakfast every morning, and cooked many dinners at the apartment

A two week getaway at the center of all of Paris.

Perfect place to call home while exploring this beautiful city. It’s in the middle of an ancient, well worn and busy alley. A one minute walk brings you to the happening Place Maubert with it’s cheese, meat, fish, wine, bakery, cafes, and the metro making all of Paris readily available. There is even a street market 3 days a week. A one minute walk in the other direction and its down to the Seine where you are across the river from Notre Dame. Ruben is a gem. Answering questions and giving suggestions before and after we got there made the trip uncomplicated for us, first time Paris travelers. We loved it and highly recommend this great apartment, great host and wonderful city!!!

This apartment could not have been better for our first trip to Paris. The rooms were comfortably and thoughtfully furnished and the location was perfect. We loved opening the windows and hearing the cathedral bells tolling in the mornings! Notre Dame was a block away in one direction, and Place Maubert with its wonderful market and the Maubert-Mutualité Metro stop was a block in the other direction. It was nice to retreat to a quiet side-street in the evenings after the bustle of the city. Ruben was extremely responsive from our first interaction to the last, as was his colleague Rhonda. A binder in the apartment was comprehensive, covering everything from instructions for the washing machine to sightseeing recommendations and emergency numbers. Having free long-distance calling to the US was very valuable as was having wi-fi. Our time in the city was simply wonderful, and we’d love to come back again. Thanks Ruben!

This comfortable, spacious, charming apartment is everything it advertised. The location is ideal, close to a lot of action and easy for getting around Paris. The apartment and its furnishings are traditional and lovely, while the kitchen and bathroom are modern and convenient. The caretakers are friendly and responsive, and the apartment comes with a notebook full of very useful information. My wife and I loved our ten days here.

Recommended for: Girls Getaway,  Tourists without a Car,  Romantic Getaway

Gold-medal apartment!

16 Rue Maître Albert, Paris, IdF (399122)

Date of Stay July 24, 2012

My husband, 11-year-old daughter, and I stayed in this amazing apartment for about a week this summer. It was everything you would hope for in an apartment in Paris–full of beautiful, old charm and character but thoroughly modern; close to great tourist sites but also right in the local scene; located on a skinny cobblestone street but minutes from a Metro station. It gave us a perfect introduction to Paris and we felt so lucky to have found it. Ruben was a breath of fresh air after a series of delayed and missed flights, and arriving in Paris with no luggage. He was helpful and friendly and a real professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from him again.Recommended for: Age 55+,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing,  Families with Teenagers,  Families with Young Children,  Romantic Getaway

Absolutely Charming Apartment!!
16 Rue Maître Albert, Paris, IdF (399122)
Date of Stay June 29, 2012

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for five days for our honeymoon after only being in Paris once three years prior. It was such a lovely experience! The apartment is beautiful and Ruben and Rhonda were a great help. Ruben’s binder in the apartment with info about the apartment and Paris was wonderfully detailed and the apartment itself was incredibly comfortable (cool even without AC or fans). Even though the apartment was fairly quiet, we still kept the windows closed at night and it was very comfortable. The apartment is an amazing deal for its location, too! 5 minutes from Notre Dame and located in one of the most sought-after areas of Paris (just steps away from Saint Germain Blvd). We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and will definitely be staying there again!! Thank you, Ruben :)Recommended for: Adventure Seekers,  Girls Getaway,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing,  Romantic Getaway

Wonderful base for exploring

This is a great street and excellent location- we walked almost everywhere. The market and shops in the Place Maubert are wonderful- don’t miss the cerise yoghurt at the cheese/dairy store. Let them help you. We found many very good restaurants nearby as well. Appreciated the Internet connection and the free phone service greatly. The apartment is charming and very European. The photos are accurate. The manager’s caution about the stairs are correct–if you have mobility problems, this may not be the place for you. Ruben was helpful and always available. The entire process was organized and easy. One other consideration-on some nights there is a bar across the street that can get noisy. Light sleepers may want ear plugs.Recommended for: Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing,  Romantic Getaway

The apartment was charming, clean and very well maintained. The kitchen and bath had been updated with granite countertops and new appliances while the living room and bedroom retained the character of old Paris. It looked just as it was pictured online. The location was great. The street reminded us of the older sections of Nime and Arles. The Seine was a half block to the left with Notre Dame in sight. To the right down Rue Maitre Albert was the convergence of a few large streets with shops, restaurants, buses, metro and taxis available. An open air market set up for three days while we were there. Carrefour, Franprix and Diagonal markets were within walking distance. Ruben (parisrentalsbyruben.com), representing the owner, had a booklet prepared for us with directions to shops and restaurants and maps for the area and directions on how to use the appliances. The Latin Quarter was just blocks away. We had free calls to the states and free wifi. We would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to visit Paris.Recommended for: Age 55+,  Adventure Seekers,  Girls Getaway,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing,  Romantic Getaway

We felt immediately at « home » the second we entered the apartment. Reuben was extremely helpful as was his colleague Rhonda. There were a number of nice touches:deep bath tub (necessary after a full day of walking!!), plenty of hot water, an espresso machine, reliable wifi, and silk duvet covers!! Very conveniently located. The neighborhood was great. Loved the market that was down the street 3x/week. Couldn’t have asked for more. Perfect for a couple .Recommended for: Age 55+,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing

Petit gem

Staying one whole month in rue Maître Albert was truly magnificent. No matter how many times we’d walked out the door and down the street to the Seine, seeing the Nôtre Dame and the picture perfect view of Paris was like a dream. The location is great, all we need right in the neighborhood, and we had a great time walking through the wide boulevards and the narrow streets of the Quartier Latin, or, whenever we’d feel like it, walk a bit more and pass by the Louvre, Jardin du Luxembourg, the Eiffel Tower… The apartment itself was another big surprise, even better than it already seemed in all the pictures, with everything we needed during our stay. Paula and Ruben were always extremely helpful and quick to answer our questions or solve problems. It was hard to leave and we’ll definitely try to stay here the next time we plan a trip to Paris.Recommended for: Age 55+,  Girls Getaway,  Tourists without a Car,  Sightseeing,  Families with Teenagers,  Families with Young Children,  Romantic Getaway
