Review #13352247 “Step Back in Time: Ancient Paris at your Doorstep – Large 1 Bedroom ”

Famous Bievre is Fabulous
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My wife and I recently spent 8 nights in this spacious and well appointed apartment. We cooked breakfast every morning and even one evening meal as all the necessary equipment is available. We really love the location. The Maubert market, Eric Kayser bakery, M. Dubois cheese, the butcher, green grocer, wine shop and cleaners are all within a 3-5 minute walk. I will have no hesitation renting this apartment again!

My wife and I recently spent two and a half weeks in France to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. One of the weeks was in Paris, at this Rue de Bievre apartment. This was our 4th extended stay in Paris, and as is our custom, we avoid hotels and prefer the convenience of apartment living. I can say without any hesitation that this was the best apartment we have ever rented in Paris.

The location is ideal. Half a block from the Seine (right where the Cathedral of Notre Dame sits), and half a block from the Boulevard Saint Germain, the best parts of Paris are a short walk away. Despite its central location, the street itself is remarkably quiet, and even sleeping with the windows open, you do not hear the cars, sirens and crowds that are so common in other locations. Supermarkets and specialty stores are all nearby. The Maubert Mutualite Metro station is a 3 minute walk away.

The apartment itself is beautiful (as the very accurate photos show), and it has been recently updated. The kitchen and bathroom are new and wonderful. The shower was a delight. The kitchen is very well supplied for cooking. The internet was quick and efficient. I was able to easily communicate with my office via email during my stay. We never used the air conditioning, as the weather was cool. There is cable TV, although I am proud to say that we did not use it. The apartment is on the 2nd floor (what would be the 3rd floor in the States), and there is an elevator in the building, though we only used it to haul the luggage up and down. The building is very clean and well maintained.

The property manager, Ruben, was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Our security deposit refund was received immediately.

I heartily recommend this apartment, and will look to stay here again when we visit Paris again.

I’ve had the pleasure of renting this apartment for three summers. Words cannot capture the wonder and charm of this home. And I do mean home because when I visit this Paris apartment I feel like a true Parisian. The location is excellent, situated between Ile Saint-Louis & Ile de la Cite and Blvd Saint-Germain. The amenities of the flat are wonderfully decorated and fully functional. The warm kitchen and dining area allow you to invite guests over for dinner. There is an a/c, but the breeze from the floor to ceiling windows has always negated its usage for me. The internet connection is fast and efficient allowing multiple users at the same time without any sluggishness. I plan on repeating this visit at Bievre as soon as I can.     Michael Defo, February 8th, 2013 I love staying here. I spend a lot of time in Paris for business. This apartment is always my first pick, if it is available. The location is perfect, on a small quiet street, close to all major central Paris sites and markets. The apartment is spacious, beautiful kept and well appointed. For those that love to cook, there is an unusually roomy kitchen with great equipment. Do your self a favor and stay here! This comfortable apartment with its kitchen appliances and amenities truly makes you feel a Parisian. Excellent cafes and restaurants, parks and museums are not far away. The location is near the Saint-Michel Metro and RER station giving one quick access to Gare du Nord, Parc des Expositions and CDR aeroport. I look forward to staying here every time I am in Paris. It was perfect- with a capital P- from the moment of our arrival. Actually, the excellence of our experience began before our arrival: the owner provided us with timely, accurate and interesting information about every aspect of the apartment and the neighborhood, from where to get great food and sundries, local restaurant info, even directions to the must-see landmarks. The attention to detail in the flat and by the owner was outstanding. We felt pampered and cared for. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, quiet, and totally inviting. The bed is excellent and there is plenty of closet space. We had friends in Paris at that time and invited them to ‘our’ place for dinner. We had every conceivable utensil and convenience in the kitchen and made some fabulous meals with fresh produce and delicious foods from the nearby shops. The location is fantastic- a block away from Notre Dame and in the heart of one of the most interesting and colorful neighborhoods in Paris. We could hear the church bells at night and could watch the children going to school from our window each morning. I can’t say enough about the location. We left each day to explore, walked out the front door and immediately felt part of a close knit community. When returning each night, we always felt safe in this neighborhood. Upon our return to New York, we shared the contact information for this flat with our family and friends. I cannot imagine ever staying in a hotel after this wonderful experience. We are already planning our next trip to Paris and will absolutely return to this apartment. I know that as soon as we open the door, we will feel at home again.
